Directory software, made by people who run a directory

Web Directory Software is an independent project. We build and maintain a self-hosted script for running web directories: the listings, the paid placements, the business pages and the news around them.

We run our own directory on it, Directorio Digital. Every feature is used there first, so what we offer is what we rely on ourselves.

The software builds on PHP Weby, an open-source directory script released under the GNU GPL. We have modernised it for current PHP versions, redesigned the admin, and added premium and paid listings, business pages, articles and news, the AI news desk and much more. It remains free software under the same licence; see Licence.

What we care about

• Your site, your data. It runs on your own server. Nothing depends on us to keep working.
• Fair to search engines. Paid links are marked as paid, AI-assisted articles are labelled and credit their sources.
• Tested before release. Every change is tested on the PHP versions we support before it reaches a live site.
